DIPP plans to develop web portal, mobile app for startups

The Commerce and Industry Ministry plans to develop a web portal for information sharing among various stakeholders of startup ecosystem including incubators, venture capital funds and government functionaries.
The development assumes significance against the backdrop of launching of 'Start-up India' initiative on January 16. It aims to create a strong eco-system for fostering innovation and start-ups in the country.
The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) intends to develop a "web-portal for information sharing and information dissemination" among various stakeholders of startup ecosystem including startups, incubators, accelerators, venture capital funds, seed capital funds, angel investment funds and government functionaries".
The department said that this portal would be integrated with 'Make in India' portal.
IT application development agency shall also be required to develop a startup ecosystem 'mobile app' with relevant back-end competency to register startups, fulfil compliance requirements and facilitate quick exit," it added.
The DIPP has floated a request-for-qualification cum request for proposal for selection of IT application development agency for 'Start-up India, Stand-up India'.
"The main objectives of the assignment are creation of a web-portal and mobile application for the 'Startup India, Standup India' initiative and maintaining and upgrading the same on a regular basis for next three calendar years starting from January, 2016," it said.
The web portal and mobile app will facilitate interchange of information among various stakeholders of startup ecosystem, it added.
