Presenting music in hospital environs can be balmy for patients even as it has the potential to serve a humanising influence on doctors and nurses, ace filmmaker Lal Jose said today.
Inaugurating the weekly 'Art and Medicine' programme of the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) at Government General Hospital here which hosted a forenoon music show, he lauded the initiative as a positive game-changer worth emulation.
"A project like this changes the atmosphere of a hospital. This is something that could definitely be replicated in other hospitals," said Lal Jose, who has been in the Malayalam movie industry for a quarter century.
"We, as artistes in the film industry, turn to music to calm us down when we feel stressed out. I have seen music being used in farms and for the domesticated animals to enable their healthy growth. So why not for people?" asked Lal Jose, whose hit films include hospital-drama Ayalum Njanum Thammil.
Singers from the Ernakulam Y's Men's Club-District I took part in the 33rd edition of the Arts and Medicine programme.
