Speaking at a function organised on the occasion of the World Disabled Day at 'Jagruti Palak Sansta' here, Naik appealed people to treat the disabled on par with others in the society.
"It is sad to see that the disabled persons are being kepy away by people in the society," Naik told the audience comprising of physically and mentally challenged children and their parents.
Thane BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar said the disabled and challenged persons should be given due care by the institutions meant for them including the special schools.
On the occasion around 41 handicapped children were given disability certificates by Naik and Kelkar.
Shamashree Bhosale, founder of the institute which deals with over 250 special children, said parents of these children should also take matters seriously and ensure that the children are kept comfortable.
