Sham Singh Shera, a disabled athlete of international repute, has been made brand ambassador of Jerai Fitness, a leading exercise equipment manufacturer.
As the brand ambassador, the bodybuilder will promote the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities across the country, Jerai said in a statement here today.
A native of Faridkot district in Punjab, Shera, whose right leg is polio affected, has won many bodybuilding championships, including 'Mr World' in Spain in 2011. He also bagged a gold medal in a competition organised by the International Federation of Bodybuilding in the US in 2015.
In association with New Delhi-based NGO, 'Udaan', Jerai will organise a series of fitness workshops in Mumbai and the national capital, where Shera will train disabled boys and girls keen on becoming athletes, the statement said.
"This entire project will be funded by Jerai. Additionally, the company will donate exercise equipment to Udaan, which works for welfare of the disabled in New Delhi and other states," the statement said.
"Shera is an icon for the disabled boys and girls aspiring to become world-class athletes," Rajesh Rai, Managing Director of Jerai, said.
