Each of the 145 Madhyamik pass students were given Rs 3000 while the 45 HS examination pass students got Rs 4000 each.
District project officer Alok Mahapatra said the SSA felicitated only those who cleared the Madhyamik last year and Higher Secondary pass students were added this year.
In another programme related to the Day, Jalpaiguri Welfare Organisation that works for the differently abled people, organised a rally to raise awareness of the issues of such people.
Sanjay Chakraborty, secretary of the organisation, said they submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate Smarki Mohapatra on their various demands for the differently abled people.
The demands include bringing each disabled person in the BPL category, spending three per cent of all government development project for the disabled people as per rule and arrangement for free travel for such people in government and private buses.
