Writers don't protest but disagree and it is through debates and disagreements only that we reach to meaningful conclusions, a noted Hindi author today said, but steered clear of the raging intolerance issue in the country.
A disciple of eminent Hindi Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwiwedi, Vishwanath Tripathi was speaking at function where he was awarded the 28th Moortidevi Award.
"Every topic needs to be debated and discussed without which life is meaningless. Without disagreement we will never come to the conclusion of a problem without which life cannot move on," Tripathi told PTI.
At the event, without raking up the topic of intolerance, the writer quoted his teacher to put the message across to the audience in the presence of eminent film director Govind Nihalani and the trustees and director of Bharatiya Jnanpith.
"Dwivedi while writing and speaking used to always express his disagreement but never protested. He said his teacher expressed these words in Hindi Samiti against the Indians who were against the Hindi language. Guru ji said the people who express their disagreement are not enemies they are also dear and near ones,"
"They are equally Indians as we are, they also want the development of the nation and the languages of the nation. The principals of society are formed out of debate and discussions," he said.
