At the initial training which began today, 54 members of the YMA, including two girls, would be imparted training by experts from the First battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDPF), Guwahati.
The minister said that the YMA, which has a unit in every village has become the first response force in any disaster that hit the state and proper scientific training would come a long way in prevention and mitigation of disaster.
Meanwhile, the state government was making efforts to ensure that at least 100 trained SDRF personnel were there in each of the eight armed police battalions in the state.
