Discovery Network Asia Pacific has come out with a animated series 'Kisna' for the kids, based on the mythological character as it focuses on the Indian contents.
Produced by Bollywood filmmaker and director Ketan Mehta, Discovery Network Asia Pacific (DNAP) would start beaming Kisna on its channel 'Discovery Kids' from October 19.
"Now we are patronising the Indian shows and visibility has gone up from such programmes. It is giving us confidence," DNAP Executive Vice President and General Manager South Asia & South East Asia Rahul Johri said.
He further added:" It will certainly capture the imagination of the kids and make the lovable 'Kisna' a household name".
Discovery is taking the challenge of telling the Indian people an Indian story, Mehta said adding, "This would be an Indian content for the Indian kids."
According to Johri, Discovery Kids has become very popular among the kids and the viewership has almost doubled in last 12 months.

"Its success is an indicator of the distinct value it delivers to the audience and trade," he said.
'Kisna' is produced by Cosmos Entertainment PTE and Maya Digital Studios. It would have a telecast in three languages -- English, Hindi and Tamil.
On being asked whether 'Kisna' would be shown on the other geographies by the Discovery, Johri said:" It would travel to other markets. It would be put on the Discovery library and they (other countries) would have access to it".
Recently, DNAP has produced some India specific shows on Rashtrapati Bhawan, National Defense Academy and on Himalayan Tsunami.
On being asked about any such shows in the DNAP's pipeline, he said: "That is continuous and we would continue to bring more shows like that".
