Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific head Rahul Johri resigns

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Executive VP and General Manager - South Asia Rahul Johri has resigned effective today.
The company has commenced search for Johri's replacement and as an interim measures Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP) President and Managing Director Arthur Bastings would manage South Asia business.
"In the interim period, Bastings will additionally manage the South Asia business and day-to-day affairs from India," DNAP said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Johri would continue as senior advisor to the company till the end of 2016.
"Rahul will continue to work with Discovery until the end of the year as a Senior Advisor to Arthur Bastings, President and Managing Director, DNAP," it added.
Johri has a 15-year tenure at Discovery and in the last 8 years, he led the South Asia operations. During his stint Discovery's portfolio increased to 11 channels.
Bastings said: "We are fortunate and grateful to have had a leader of Rahul's calibre and vision. At the helm, he created an unmatched portfolio that is immensely valued by viewers and trade partners".
Johri said: "I have had the good fortune to work in one of the finest media companies in the world. After 15 years with Discovery, I believe it is time for me to explore new opportunities".
