Such sales would promote spurious drugs and also supply of expired medicines and needless complications as sleeping pills will be available in plenty, PT founder leader Dr K Krishnasamy told reporters here.
Besides, it would also lead to closure of small medical shops both in semi-urban and rural areas, affecting livelihood of lakhs of people, Krishnasamy, who himself is a medical doctor and running a nursing home here, said.
Krishnasamy also reiterated his demand for handing over to CBI the Gokulraj muder case and the suicide of woman police official, DSP Vishnupriya, who was probing it.
There had bee no breakthrough in the case, even after the surrender and arrest of Yuvaraj, the main accused, he said.
Referring to the recent stir by plantation workers in Munnar in Kerala,
Stating that the plantation workers in Munnar across the border in Kerala had managed to get increased wages, he demanded that the Tamil Nadu government initiate a tripartite talks between management,labour department and trade unions,on increasing wages to such workers in Tamil Nadu.
