Discussion on a Bill proposing setting up of commercial benches in select High Courts to deal with high commercial value business disputes was again put off as members favoured time to study the report of Standing Committee tabled only today.
The Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Bill, 2015 was proposed to be taken up today but BJP member P P Chaudhary requested the discussion on it should take place at a later date.
His argument was that parliamentary panel had submitted its report on the proposed legislation only today.
Certain recommendations have been made and unless the government looks into them, the report would become futile, he said.
The Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice today tabled its report on the bill.
Heeding to the member's request, Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said the government would look into the recommendations and then the discussion was postponed.
The discussion on the Bill could not take place yesterday also.
