"IndiGo is in preliminary discussions with Qatar Airways to explore potential marketing arrangements based on mutual interests," the airline said in a statement here.
IndiGo's official confirmation that it was in discussions with Qatar Airways comes ahead of the no-frills carrier gearing up for an initial public offer worth nearly Rs 2,500 crore.
Interestingly, Qatar Airways had yesterday confirmed its talks with IndiGo and rejected reports that it was eyeing investment in the low-cost carrier SpiceJet.
Several times in the past also, the Doha-based airline has evinced interest in picking up stake in IndiGo.
In a detailed statement yesterday, Qatar Airways had completely denied reports that it was in talks for a "commercial stake" or partnership with another Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet.
Noting that it has "no interest" to engage in a partnership with SpiceJet, Qatar Airways had said, "These stake sale comments are unfounded and are believed to be deliberately spread to influence share valuations".
