Senior Congress leaders including former MLAs Nillo Rengma, Joshua Sumi, Supongmeren Jamir, Zachilhu Vadeo, H Chuba, Khusatho and K V Pusa along with former office bearers of District Congress Committees and Assembly Constituency Congress Committees and other party workers protested in front of Congress Bhavan here.
Besides sealing the main entrance to the President's chamber with woodblocks, they also pasted banners demanding immediate removal of Therie from the post of President.
Terming Therie as being pro-BJP, the suspended Congress leaders demanded non-partial AICC inquiry into his activities.
Another leader Salanthang said that after Therie became the President in May this year, he has resorted to random suspension and dismissal of Congress leaders and party workers of the state.

"Therie was planning to join BJP in March but he did not and after being appointed Congress president in Kohima, he is now planning to destroy the party in the state. We will continue to stage such protest till Therie is removed."
"Congress has been in opposition for last 12 years and every party men and women are suffering and therefore Congress MLAs joining the NPF-led DAN government is not an offence," Khusatho said.
Former Kohima DCC president, Prasilie Pienyu alleged that Therie had come to dislodge and destroy the Congress in the state.
