"Roughly 72 per cent Bru voters had cast their votes in the camps in last three days. The election passed off peacefully without any incident," District Magistrate of North Tripura S R Rathore, who was appointed as the Coordinating officer of the election told PTI.
As the displaced Bru people are voters of Mizoram, the ECI had set up six postal ballot facilitation centers in the evacuee camps where postal ballots were being cast in presence of an Assistant Returning Officer from Mizoram from April 1 last, he added.
About 35,000 displaced people are now sheltered in six camps named as Naisinghpara, Ashapara, Hamshapara, Hezacherra, Khakchan and Kasco and about 11500 voters were eligible to cast their votes.
Over seven lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Mizoram which will go to hustings on April nine with three contestants from Congress, AAP and UDF in the fray.

Polling will be held in 1,126 polling stations, of which 40, most in border areas, are identified as sensitive polling stations.
Mizoram officials would take the postal ballots for counting on May 16.
