Slamming Congress for the washout of Monsoon session of the Parliament, Union Minister Jual Oram today said the NDA government will soon launch a campaign to inform people about the impact of not passing the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Bill.
"The deliberate and forcible disruption of the Monsoon session of the Parliament by Congress in an undemocratic manner was a cynical ploy to sabotage India's economic growth," Oram told reporters here.
Terming the stalling of Parliament as an "assault on the aspirations" of the people, the Union Tribal Affairs Minister said sabotage of the GST bill was a blow to the youths in need of jobs.
Claiming that the legislation was estimated to add 1.5 per cent to two per cent to the GDP, Oram said, in other words India's economy stands to lose around Rs 2,00,000 crore per year because of "the irrational and unprincipled obstinacy of the Congress leadership determined to promote the interests of a fading dynasty above the needs of our nation."
Alleging that the politics of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi was stealing jobs from the poor, he said in its pursuit of individual ambition over national welfare, the Congress has sought to undermine the core institution of democracy through relentless pandemonium.
Accusing the Congress of wanting judgment without hearing while demanding resignation of a Union Minister and two chief ministers, the BJP leader said that though External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj offered to give her side of the story on the Lalit Modi issue and government was ready for discussion, Congress opted to stall the Parliament.
Stating that people across the country were anguished over the obstructionist politics of Congress, he said "India and its economy are being held hostage by Congress, which is trying to punish the people by disrupting economic growth."
The NDA has called upon the people to see through the undemocratic behaviour of the Congress and to make people aware of the disruption of economic revival, it would campaign across the country, particularly in the constituencies of Congress and Left parties, Oram said.
