The BJP alleged that the Congress, which claims itself as a messiah of minorities, has done precious little for their welfare and this has resulted in public anger coming out in the form of today's incident.
"The disruption at the Prime Minister's function is the result of the natural expression of people's anger coming out against the UPA for its policies which have not helped the public," BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi told reporters.

He was referring to an incident in Vigyan Bhavan when a member of muslim community interrupted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to complain that schemes meant for minorities were not being implemented on ground. He was immediately ushered out.
Trivedi said the incident came almost six years after the Prime Minister announced at the same venue that muslims have the first right to the country's natural resources.
"Six years after that announcement and despite tall claims by the government, what has reached the public in reality was evident in Vigyan Bhawan today," he said.
