Dist team visits heritage sites of E Midnapore

A team led by East Midnapore District Magistrate today visited several heritage sites in the district in an effort to put them on the district tourist map.
District Magistrate Antara Acharya said after the day's visit of palatial buildings and heritage structures at Moynagarh, Mahisadal, Geonkhali, Tamluk and Haldia, that a report would soon be prepared and sent to the state government.
The eight-member team would visit some more places and draw up a detailed report highlighting the shortcomings in and around the heritage structures in the district, seeking assistance from the state government and place them in the state's tourism map, the DM said.
