"Five more persons, namely Sukhan, Nazim Safi, Shakooran, Zarifan, Andaman, have been identified as riot victims and their families would be given Rs 13 lakh each as compensation," District Magistrate P Singh said.
The decision comes after family members of some riot victims had claimed that they had not been provided any relief or compensation.
On the direction of the Supreme Court, a compensation of Rs 2 lakh would be provided to the families of 24 children who died in relief camps due to cold, he said, adding the state government has sanctioned funds in this regard.
