The Akola District Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum ordered a local hospital to pay Rs 3 lakh to a man who lost his daughter due to alleged medical negligence of the hospital.
The Forum, headed by Suhas Untwale, in the order delivered on Tuesday, directed the hospital to pay Rs 3 lakh as compensation to Anil Kale of Malsur village in the district for the death of his two-year-old daughter Anushri due to alleged negligence.
Kale said in his complaint that his daughter was critically ill and was hospitalised on March 18, 2012 on a reference by a local doctor.
He alleged the hospital authority did not send her blood samples for testing even after 24 hours of admission.
Despite her critical condition, doctors did not take proper care of the child, following which she died on March 21, he added.
Later, Kale filed a case with the Forum against the hospital management.
The Forum also asked the hospital management to pay Rs 2,000 as cost of the complainant to Kale.
