Div Commissioner appointed observer for Dharamsala MC polls

Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission today appointed Divisional Commissioner Mandi, Devesh Kumar as Observer for election of the Municipal Corporation, Dharamshala to be held onMarch 27.
A spokesperson of State Election Commission said here that the nomination paper for Dharamshala MC polls would be filed on March 4, 5 and 8, polling for 17-ward MC would be held on March 27 and the counting of votes would take place on the same day.
He said that 247 applications for inclusion of names in electoral rolls had been received upto February 29, 2016 for which the decision would be taken by Deputy Commissioner, Kangra before March 8.

He informed that the State Election Commission has taken a serious note of Kangra Deputy Commissioner, Ritesh Chauhan leaving the District Headquarter without prior permission of the Commission during the election process.
The Commission had sought an explanation from him in this regard.
