Divisional Commissioner & DIG office inaugurated at Yachuli

The office of Arunachal West Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Inspector General Western were inaugurated by Chief Minister Pema Khandu here today.
"Today is a historic day for all of us, particularly the people of Yachuli. The divisional commissioner will be able to take decisions to independently approve projects up to Rs 50 lakh," Khandu announced after formally inaugurating the new division.
With picturesque Yachuli being made the headquarters of the division, the locals believe that the sub-division will flourish in all spheres. It has huge potentials particularly in agriculture and horticulture sectors.
Gamli Padu and Tusar Taka were appointed as the divisions commissioner and DIG respectively. It will look after developmental as well as security issues of 33 Assembly constituencies spread across 11 districts.
"Yachuli is Arunachals Valley of Romance. The people here were anxiously waiting for 19 long years and today, their dream has come true," local MLA Likha Saaya said at the inaugural function.
He said the locals had donated 270 hectares of land for the setting up of the offices of the division.
Calling Yachuli the "Gateway to five districts", he demanded that it be also made the states "summer capital".
Yachuli is about 100 km north-east of state capital Itanagar.
