Water Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam held a meeting with protesting engineers of the DJB (Delhi Jal Board) yesterday, following which the decision to put off the agitation was taken, a member of the engineers' body said.
However, there was no let up on the government's tirade against DJB CEO Keshav Chandra, against whom a case has been referred to the Delhi Assembly's privilege committee.
When contacted, Chandra said he was on medical leave and not in a position to comment.
"Few officials were later misguided and misled into agitating and hampering work of DJB. I have spoken to them and have sorted out the issue. The panel has every right to enquire about spending of tax payers' money on these projects," Gautam told PTI.
A member of the engineers' association said Gautam has assured that the matter will be resolved, so the protest has been deferred. "We are meeting tomorrow to decide the next course of action," he said.
