A junior engineer of Delhi Jal Board was allegedly thrashed by the AAP MLA of Deoli constituency when he refused to stop the drilling of a tube-well today.
The MLA, along with his goons, allegedly assaulted the DJB official Arun Kumar at Sangam Vihar area, where he was supervising the work of drilling of a tube-well which was started this morning, DJB officials said.
One of the associates of the MLA had telepphonically asked the DJB official stop the work citing no work could be initiated unless it was formally inaugurated by the AAP MLA, Prakash Jarwal.
The DJB official politely explained the adverse effect of stopping the ongoing work as it would indefinitely delay the boring of the tubewell causing grave inconvenience to the public.
Subsequently, the MLA of the constituency reached the spot at around 10 am along with his associates and beat up the DJB official.
Arun Kumar was later rushed to the hospital, the official added.
