DLF gets British Safety Council award for office buildings

India's largest realty firm DLF has received the 'Sword of Honour' award from British Safety Council for maintaining highest safety standards in its 17 office buildings in Gurgaon.
DLF has become the first real estate organisation in the world (in office complex infrastructure development and operation) to earn this honour, it said in a statement.
"The British Safety Council has conferred the prestigious 'Sword of Honour' to 17 DLF office complexes in Gurgaon. DLF is conferred with this Safety Excellence Award for maintaining the highest standard in occupational health and safety," the statement said.
The British Safety Council's Sword of Honour award represents the pinnacle of achievement in the world of health and safety management.
This award has been announced after DLF received a 5-star grading in the 'Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit' from the Council in July this year.
British Safety Council is a global body working for enhancing safety of individuals, space and lives at work. Its role is to help organisations achieve the highest health and safety standards set by law, to protect their staff and future of the business.

On receiving the award, DLF's CEO (Rental Business) Sriram Khattar said, "This is a moment of great pride for everyone at DLF as we are the first real estate company to win this honour across the globe. This Sword of Honor is a testament to our passion, drive and commitment to safety."
DLF would be formally coffered with the award on November 28 in a ceremony to be held in United Kingdom.
The company has a land bank of over 300 million sq ft with about 52 million sq ft of projects under construction. It is present across 15 states-24 cities in India.
