DLF said its office complexes in Gurgaon have been awarded a five star grading from British Safety Council. This is the highest grading being awarded by British Safety Council in 'Occupational Health and Safety Management System'.
"DLF is the first real estate company in the world to attain 5-star grading," British Safety Council Associate Auditor Christopher McDermott told reporters here.
Management committment towards safety standards coupled with safety equipments installed in office buildings played a major role in DLF getting the highest grading, he added.
Commenting on the development, DLF's CEO- Rental Business Sriram Khattar said: "DLF has inculcated safety as a core value of its business with enriching knowledge partnership with DuPont and Bureau Veritas".
British Safety Council became a government regulated awarding organisation in 2004. It provides ratings in 50 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and middle-east countries.
DLF has a land bank of 314 million sq ft with 52 million sq ft of projects under construction. The company has a presence in 24 cities in 15 states. It has a rental income of about Rs 2,000 crore per annum from its office buildings and shopping malls.
