DLF share climbs 7% even as COMPAT upholds CCI's Rs 630cr fine

Shares of DLF today surged by over seven cent even as the Competition Appellate Tribunal upheld a Rs 630-crore penalty imposed on the realty major by fair trade regulator CCI.
The scrip of DLF climbed as much as 7.54 per cent to close at Rs 182.45 apiece on the BSE. In the intra-day trade, the stock touched a high of Rs 183.85 and a low of Rs 172.20.
Similar movement was seen on the National Stock Exchange, where the stock settled at Rs 183 apiece, with a gain of 7.84 per cent. During the trading session, DLF appreciated by 8.3 per cent to touch a high of Rs 183.75.
The Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT)today upheld a Rs 630 crore penalty imposed on DLF by CCI and emphasised that abuse of dominant position should be dealt with iron hands.
DLF said it would move the Supreme Court on the matter.
In August 2011, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) found DLF violating fair trade norms and imposed the fine on a complaint by Belaire Owners' Association.
Meanwhile, the BSE's benchmark Sensex closed at 24,363.05 points, up 241.31 points.
