The party's General Council, which met at neighbouring Tiruvallore district, adopted a total of 19 resolutions, most of them criticising former ally, the ruling AIADMK, on many fronts including law and order and power cut situation.
One of the resolutions said that people were "eagerly" watching what strategy DMDK will adopt for this year's Lok Sabha polls and authorised founder Vijayakant to decide in this regard.
Vijayakant is addressed as "Captain' by his followers.
Further, it also approved the setting up of a six-member committee to discuss alliance talks. This panel includes the founder's relative L K Sutheesh and senior leaders and MLAs, VC Chandrakumar and R Mohanraj among others.
BJP and DMK have already sent feelers to DMDK which has 29 MLAs in the state Assembly including the seven rebel legislators who have shifted loyalty to AIADMK.
Congress has also kept its doors open for the entry of the party, which is yet to win a Lok Sabha seat.
