Justice A S Bopanna adjourned the hearing, noting that the matter is pending before the Supreme Court, where Jayalalithaa has challenged the removal of Singh as SPP.
Jayalalithaa's counsel argued that since the apex court on September 13 had stayed Karnataka Government's order removing Singh as SPP, nothing survives in the petition filed by Anbazhagan and it may be dismissed as infructuous.

However, the DMK leader's counsel said the petition may be adjourned for some other day as Jayalalithaa and other accused in the case had challenged SPP's removal in the apex court.
Jayalalithaa had been charged with accumulating Rs 66.65 crore wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income when she was Chief Minister from 1991 to 1996. A Special Court here is trying the case.
