" No. They (party members) will not. This programme is being held without respecting anyone. There is no respect for us", Karunanidhi told reporters when asked whether DMK members will participate in tomorrow's function.

Asked whether he would call on the President who is his long-time friend, the DMK chief said he received a message conveying his (Pranab Mukherjee) desire to meet him at his residence.

Asked about today's Cauvery talks between the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka which failed to achieve any breakthrough, Karunanidhi said "while Karnataka's political leadership took all political leaders on board, it is regrettable that Jayalalithaa did not convene an all-party meeting on this issue".
