Discarding his 'Rangbaaz' tag, where he shook legs with co-actor Koel Mallicl, Actor-turned-MP Dev said in Buno Haansh that he felt like "You don't need to groove with every music beat in this world".
"When I got to mouth the songs composed by Shantanu Moitra, my favourite music man since a very young age, I thought yaah, this is one track you don't need to tap your foot," Dev said at the music launch of Aniruddha Roychowdhury film.
"The songs are typical of a Tonyda film. And the mahal (ambience) is so typical of Shantanu Moitra. The tracks will co-exist with my peppy numbers, and last for a long time," Dev, aka Deepak Adhikary, said.
Moitra, who had mentored Buno Haansh Talenthouse contestants and picked up winners Abhishek Bhattacharya and Chaitali Mukherjee for their original renditions of the Shreya Ghosal-Papon duet in the film on brighter and seamier sides of life, said, "The film's musicgraph is very different from my past works - both in Bollywood and here and elsewhere."
"When we are given brief about a number we never get bogged down with who will be the singer and how the timber will match his voice. We are more concerned about the situation and how the tracks will help carry forward the story or enhance the mood acoustically," the Bobby Jasoos singer, singer.
About his vibes with Shreya, Papon said, "Tu' was a duet with Shreya in Bobby Jasoos. Both of us enjoyed the recordings. And the same magic was there in Buno Haansh, I guess."
Buno Haansh, produced by Reliance Entertainments, is another foray by the entertainment major in arthouse genre after Janala, Abohoman, Jaatismar.
