The Bone and Joint week would be organised under guidance of Indian Orthopaedic Association across Bihar from July 28 to August 4, Amulaya Kumar Singh, convenor of the programme, told reporters.
NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), Bihar Police and Lions and Rotary clubs would join hands with the doctors in spreading message in colleges on road safety, he said.
As part of the programme, the team would visit Magadh Mahila College, IGIMS, Buddha Dental, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna Womens College, St Michael school and St Xavier's school in the state capital to tell students to take precaution to avoid road accident, Singh accompanied by leading orthopaedic surgeons of the state including R N Singh and Vishvendra Kumar Sinha, said.
Victims of road accidents mostly were in the age group of 15-55 years, he said.
Kumar and Singh said speeding, drunk driving, non-use of helmet and not using seat belts have been identified as causes of road accidents in the country against which they wish to make the youth aware of.
