Doctor attacked, one held

A doctor working in the Sub District Hospital at Bhaderwah in Doda district was attacked by a chemist shop owner and his son, police said today.
Dr Mudasir Arif was on his way to his office yesterday when Irshad Ahmed and Manan Ahmed attacked him with a blunt object on his head at Bhaderwah town, the police said.
Arif recovered severe head injuries and was rushed to the SDH Bhaderwah from where he was shifted to the district hospital Doda in a critical condition.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the doctor had prescribed a particular medicine to a patient, when the patient after buying the medicine from the shop of Irshad went to show the same to the doctor, the doctor returned the medicines saying that the medicines were not the same that were prescribed by him, the officer said.

He said that this infuriated the chemist and his son, who planned to attack the doctor when he was on his way to the hospital.
Irshad Ahmed have been arrested by police, they said.
