The incident was reported from Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital here last month and the victims were identified as Madanlal Gupta and his wife Madhuri, both doctors.
84-year-old Gupta, a resident of Mayur Vihar Ph-II had taken his wife to the hospital as she was not keeping well. She had undergone a CT Scan last month.
"Before entering the room, she was asked to remove her jewellery. She kept her jewellery in a bag and gave it to her husband who was waiting outside the room. After a few minutes, Gupta was asked to come inside the room as she was feeling unwell.
"Panicked, Gupta entered the room leaving his bag outside on the bench where he was sitting. But when he returned after ten minutes, his bag was missing," a senior police official said.
The couple lost a diamond ear ring and four gold bangles.
Though the incident took place last month, the couple registered a complaint only yesterday, the official said.
