Doctors condemn attack on colleague, demands protection

Condemning the attack on a Community Health Centre in-charge, doctors and other staff members of the facility threatened to go on an indefinite strike if the assailants were not arrested within three days.
They submitted memorandum to the district magistrate and the superintendent of police, demanding adequate security arrangements.
Amethi Community Health Centre in-charge P K Singh was shot at by some motorcycle-borne criminals on December 12 when he was returning to Amethi from his native village Sarpataha in Jaunpur district in a car. The incident took place at the railway crossing of Chilbila in Pratapgarh district.
Dr Singh was rushed to district hospital of Pratapgarh, from where he was referred to Allahabad. Later he was shifted to a private hospital in Gurgaon, where he is struggling for life.
