A special documentary, which captures the story of Rashtrapati Bhavan from its conception to completion and the changes it has seen as the home of country's President, will be screened soon.
President Pranab Mukherjee will be the chief guest when special premiere of the documentary will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan auditorium on August 2, officials said.
Indian-born British actor Roshan Seth is the narrator of the documentary which will be aired on Discovery Channel in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla on August 15.
The documentary captures the story of Rashtrapati Bhavan and the changes it has seen as the home of the President of India. It epitomises the history of India from British imperialism and the succession of rulers to the splendour of Indian architecture and craftsmanship.
"This is where the most influential and critical political strategies and decisions are executed," the documentary shows as it charts out the story of this building on two parallels.
While one story follows shift of capital and efforts of Edwin Landseer Lutyens as its architect, the other takes viewers through the sprawling palace and magnificent rooms of the Bhavan, which is the home of the head of the largest democracy in the world.
