Domestic and foreign tourists throng temples on Kaanum Pongal

A larg number of tourists, including from foreign countries, arrived here on the occasion of Kaanum Pongal today visited temples and parks.
Long queue were sitness in several temples including Manakula Vinayakar temple to offer prayers.
Police were deployed at various points to ensure that nothing went awry.
As today was also observed as 'Kari Naal' ,which is considered to be inauspicious, shops and establishments remained closed across the town and suburban areas.
Today was a holiday for all government offices and educational institutions here.
