Avoid negativity on social media and refrain from responding to any abusive or harsh comments in the same tone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised his followers.
He has asked those using the social media to focus on positivity and creative energy to help contribute to the country's development and growth.
Modi, who himself is very active in the social media, was interacting with a group of about 125 social media activists, associated with 'MyGov' platform, at a review meeting of 'Digital India' programme.
"Ignore the negativity and take positive energy forward to contribute in nation's development," said Arvind Gupta, chairman of BJP's IT Cell, citing the Prime Minister's message to the group at the interaction.
"He (Modi) guided everyone on the power of positive and creative energy that should be harnessed to contribute towards development and growth of India," he added.
Gupta said the Prime Minister asked them to help make the Digital India programme successful to help transform and benefit India through direct sharing of ideas with the government. "He (Modi) encouraged the active volunteeers to discuss their experiences and share ideas on 'MyGov' platform," he added.
