Most parts of coastal Odisha including the state capital Bhubaneswar today received downpour due to a low pressure, with IMD predicting heavy rainfall at one or two places.
The low pressure area over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off the coasts of south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh persists, the MeT department said.
Under its impact, heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places in coastal Odisha. North-westerly surface wind with a speed of 35 to 45 Kmph is likely to prevail along and off the South Odisha coast.
The highest rainfall of 92.2 mm was recorded in Cuttack. Bhubaneswar received 69.2 mm rains, while Balaosore received rainfall of 26.8 mm, the MeT department said, and cautioned fishermen to remain alert while venturing into the sea off south Odisha.
