Police today claimed to have made a breakthrough in the recent alleged dowry death case of a 24-year-old woman here with the recovery of three suicide notes, allegedly written by her.
The suicide notes, one of which was addressed to the victim Sumitra's father-in-law Sardar Singh and the remaining two were meant for her husband Dinesh, were handed over to the police by Singh on September 2.
While the suicide notes pointed out the involvement of the deceased's brother-in-law Gainda Ram (35), they also mentioned that Sumitra's husband Dinesh "was not responsible for her demise".
Police claimed that Gainda Ram had been allegedly exploiting Sumitra sexually for the last several years and had not spared her even after she got married to Dinesh in November, 2012.
Ram was arrested later under the charges of rape and abetment to suicide and was remanded in 14-day judicial custody by a local court.
Further probes are on into the matter, they added.
