Dr K B Hedgewar, who was associated with the Indian National Congress (INC) before founding the RSS, wanted the INC to announce a complete ban on the slaughter of gau vansh (cow progeny), RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said.
"Dr Hedgewar had a comprehensive vision. In the 1920 convention of the All India Congress Committee held in Nagpur, he had proposed two resolutions, including a complete ban on the slaughter of gau vansh (cow progeny)," he said.
Bhagwat was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the 'Sangh Shiksha Varg- Trutiya Varsh'-- RSS's summer camp for the final year course of the trainees here last night.
"DrHedgewar was the in-charge of the convention arrangements, wherein he had put forth two proposals before the regular committee of the INC. He wanted the INC to announce a complete ban on gau vansh slaughter and complete freedom to India."
Similarly, he wanted an independent India to aim at bringing the world out of the web of the capitalist economy, the RSS chief said.
"Dr Hedgewar was of the view that the capitalist economy prevailing in the world does not follow the value and the ethics and this capitalist economy runs on the exploitation of the weak.
"He wanted the world to come out of the web of capitalist economy. This ideology of values and ethics was mooted by Dr Hedgewar five years before the formation of the RSS in 1925," Bhagwat said.
