The MSME ministry is in the process of drafting strategies for encouraging women to set up their own businesses, a government official today said.
It was stated by Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner in the ministry Ram Mohan Mishra at a session here -- Women Entrepreneurs - Sustainable Livelihoods to Successful Business'.
The session was part of the International SME Convention being held here. In this, women entrepreneurs from India, Finland, Italy, Russia and Cambodia shared their experiences of success and obstacles faced.
Quoting the Development Commissioner, an official statement said the Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry is "in the process of drafting strategies for encouraging women to set up their own businesses".
SME delegates from 37 countries including Australia, Austria, France, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia and Morocco participated in the convention.
