Hong Kong-based carrier Dragonair has introduced an additional flight to the city from today, taking the total number of flights to six per week.
The airline is a member of Cathay Pacific Group.
"We are satisfied with the passenger load from Kolkata. The average passenger load from here to Hong Kong is 80 to 85 per cent. So we have decided to add another flight from today," Cathay Pacific and Dragonair GM (South Asia, Middle East and Africa) Charlie Stewart-Cox said.
He said the carrier was operating an Airbus A-320 aircraft from the city, which according to him, was apt for the sector.
"We do not have any immediate plans for introducing larger aircraft on this sector," he told reporters here today.
Cathay Pacific also operates two cargo freighters from Kolkata, he added.
