DRDB approves 315 development work schemes

Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB) today approved 315 development work schemes worth over Rs 480 cr, including improvement or construction of roads, drains, community centre and play grounds in villages of 13 Assembly constituencies here.
The decision was taken in the board's meeting chaired by Development Minister Gopal Rai today at the Delhi Secretariat here.
The development works will be carried out by DRDB under its scheme - Integrated Development of Rural Village(RDRV)- in rural areas.
A senior government official said that development works will be carried out in rural areas at a cost of around Rs 481 cr, adding, the works were recommended by various MPs and MLAs for their areas.
Rai, who is also the chairman of Delhi Rural Development Board, said that government will take all necessary steps to improve the condition of roads, parks, small drains and multipurpose community halls as well to ensure supply of water and electricity in all rural areas.
In the meeting, Social Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar, 14 MLAs, elected representatives from municipal corporations, senior officers of Development Department, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Delhi Jal Board, etc, were also present.
The minister also said that works - construction/repair of approach roads/link roads/village roads, construction of drainage facility mainly to protect from flooding, development of cremation grounds, parks, playgrounds, vyayamshalsas, development of ponds/water bodies, other need based works like drinking water facility, street light etc - will be carried out.
