It has also established a communication link between the CRPF in Srinagar and the Home Ministry through a satellite communication netwrok.
"Nine tonnes of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) packaged foods appealing to the local tastes was prepared and packed on warfooting at Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL) Mysore, which prepares such meals for the armed forces," a DRDO release said.
"The food includes hygienically packed, long shelf life RTE food that includes chapattis, vegetable pulav, tomato rice, lemon rice, zeera rice, Bengal gram, dal fry, khichry and suji halwa," it said.
The defence forces are carrying out round-the-clock relief operations in the city where 30,000 troops have been deployed by the Army while the Navy has sent three teams of its elite MARCOS commandos for setting up waterways in the city.
The Air Force has also deployed 84 aircraft and helicopters in the operations where over 1.27 lakh people have been rescued so far by the armed forces and the NDRF from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir.
