"It is my dream that in my life time our Parliament will be composed of 50 per cent women, our cabinet will be 50 per cent women," Bilawal said while speaking at a luncheon discussion hosted by United States Institute of Peace (USIP).
Quoting Benazir Bhutto who had once said, "the people who resent me do so because I am young, I am a Bhutto and I am a woman," Bilawal said, "the same people resent me because I am young, I am a Bhutto and I am proud to say I am a feminist."
Bilawal said that he is proud of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government for passing the most legislation in favour of women more than all the governments in the past.
"I am proud we made history with first female Prime Minister of Islamic World, first female Foreign Minister of Pakistan and first female National Assembly Speaker of Pakistan," Bilawal was quoted by the APP news agency as saying.
"We have one of the largest representation of women amongst our legislators compared to other countries in our region," he added.
There are 22.5 per cent women in Pakistan's current Parliament.
