"It has been observed that some of the staff members are not adhering to proper dress code/uniform and thus, the working atmosphere as well as the dignity of the court is being affected adversely," the order issued by District and Sessions Judge Sunita Gupta said.

"Thus, in order to maintain the discipline and decorum of the court, all the staff members are directed to strictly adhere to the formal uniform/dress code," it said.

The order directed the male staff members to report for work dressed in shirt and trousers and the female staff members have been directed to wear 'salwar kameez or saree' at work.

"Any violation of the above direction shall be viewed severely," the order said.

The order has been marked to all judicial officers at all the six district courts with a request to convey the instructions to all the staff working under their control.
