Nearly a thousand passengers missed their flights due to a major traffic jam on the Guangzhou Airport expressway yesterday, according to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport officials.
Passengers have been advised to take subway to go to the airport, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
China Southern Airlines, based in Guangzhou in southern part of the country, has added 160 extra flights, with 14,000 flights expected during the holiday.
Around 1,000 patrol cars equipped with video transmission systems receive real-time information sent by the drones.
The drones helped clear 52 minor road accidents yesterday, according to the provincial public security department.
