"Under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Women and Child Development Department has hiked the financial aid from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 to be given for the marriage of drought-affected farmers' this year," a government spokesperson said today.
The drought-affected farmers will receive Rs 30,000 as financial help for marriage of their daughters, he said.
The amount will be directly transferred by collector of respective districts to the bank account of drought-affected farmers, he added.
According to the spokesperson, this scheme will be implemented for one year - from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016.
