Drowned youths' bodies yet to be traced

Despite a search operation today, divers from the Army and Punjab police failed to locate the bodies of three youths, who were feared drowned in the Beas river yesterday.
Search operations were carried out in the Sri Hargobindpur area here. The teams also used motor boats to trace the youths, police said.
Besides, big nets were also thrown into the river in an attempt to fish out the bodies, they said.
The youths hailing from Punjab's Hoshiarpur district had jumped into the river near Ballan village to take bath and were swept away by the strong currents, police said.
They youths were identified as Arvinder Singh, Karam Singh and Surinder Singh, all between 17 to 18 years of age.
