Accused Nirmal Singh (30) was arrested today on charges of killing his wife Raj Rani (25) last night, police said.
The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime, but police nabbed him from a secluded place here where he sought refuge.
The accused was a drug addict and frequently used to seek money from his wife, police said, adding there were several disputes between the couple over the matter.
The wife was also physically assaulted by him whenever she refrained from giving money, they said.
